The solar medium in the solar thermal system heats the water in the cylinder via the lower indirect coil during periods of sufficient solar radiation. As hot water is drawn off, triggering a temperature drop, the boiler engages to supplement heating through the second circuit. Additionally, Viessmann's solar thermal products provide flexible combinations for domestic hot water heating, including dual mode DHW cylinders, combi cylinders, and heating water buffer cylinders..

The solar collectors have the capability to heat the solar medium, which can be effectively utilized to bring the heating water to the desired temperature. Through the heating circuit and a heat exchanger, the water in the solar cylinder, continuously heated by the solar collectors, is employed.
